I have put up some ideas I have after attending a terrific workshop run by Kevin Hennah who you will meet as I am going to invite him to work with us.

They include identifying the value of our space where are the “hot spots” are and ensuring that we place the collections or services that are most used in the right places.  With that in mind I thought we might want to consider moving design down to level 1. Anyway I have left the ideas up on the whiteboard and also I am inviting your comments/suggestions.

I will post more about Kevin’s presentation soon. Simple things we can do now are:

1.  remove old/damaged equipment/furniture
2. thing about our colour themes
3. regroup furniture into pods (small groupings) like a living room
4. declutter the service desk.
5. Front face  the collection – could we put the DVD covers on display for example
6. remove old style signs/posters
7. review signage

So it will be exciting to see what we can achieve with a small budget but lets go for it. Feel free to comment and post your ideas.
